Location
Glenbrook resort, located within an easy 10 minute drive from Disney is also convenient for other parks. It is conveniently situated for a great selection of restaurants, the closest being New York Pizza Club, a 10 minute walk away, others you will need the car for. Other major parks are only a short drive away. Whilst Florida Star offers everything for a great vacation, the resort offers a communal pool, gym, tennis and sand volley ball along with a clubhouse. To be honest many of our guests have found that they have everything they want at Florida Star other than perhaps an occasional visit to the gym. Whilst Glenbrook is described as a resort, this is because of the communal facilities. It is very peaceful. If you want a bustling, lively resort area Glenbrook is not for you. If you want a peaceful vacation with lots of facilities within the villa and also some others then maybe Glenbrook is for you.
The Villa
As you walk through the front door (keys available in a lock box outside so no need to find a remote office to pick these up), you will be greeted by the formal lounge and dining area off the vaulted lobby overlooked by the first floor landing.. A place for the adults to relax. No TV here but a Sony Hi Fi to help set the mood. Leading off the lobby is the game room, a great hit for the kids (and many adults). We have a full size slate bed American pool table, Air Hockey, Foosball (bar football) and electronic darts. There is also a pub table with tall chairs and CD player. The room is decorated with sporting pictures. Some of them you may recognize, others you may debate.
Walking through to the large open plan kitchen, nook (dining area) and family room. You will notice the light and airy feel, with the vaulted ceiling overlooked by the first floor landing and 2 large patio doors leading to the pool deck. The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern facilities. Seating at the breakfast table for 6 with an additional 3 at the breakfast bar. In the family area we have a 50” cable HDTV flat screen TV with Bose sound system, and DVD. A selection of DVD’s is provided.
Leading off the family room is the first master king bedroom with four poster bed, LCD TV and DVD, en-suite bathroom with his and hers wash basins, corner bath and walk in shower. The bedroom also has a large walk in closet and patio doors leading to the pool deck. There is even a set of scales to see how many pounds you or your luggage have put on!
We know that you are on vacation, but should you need it, there is a well equipped laundry area leading off the kitchen with washer, drier and upgraded ironing facilities.
Outside in the pool area we have an extended pool deck with lots of space. This is generously equipped with luxury furniture – loungers, relaxers and table with seating for six. Enjoy the pool or relax in the spa. The pool is not overlooked by properties to the rear, adding to the privacy and solitude. On a clear night you may even get a view of the Disney fireworks from here.
Going upstairs you will find a further six bedrooms off the spacious landing, One King Master with en-suite, two Queen bedrooms, Two twin bedrooms and one bunkroom. In all sleeping for 14 in real beds, however we do find that many smaller parties enjoy the space and facilities Florida Star has to offer. On the landing overlooking the family room there is a computer with free high speed internet access, great for checking attractions, directions, checking in for your flight home to avoid queues at the airport (if your airline provides this facility) and even booking tickets. This also enables you to download your photos from your camera’s media card onto CD or flash memory.
Other information (including your safety and security)
Safety and security for our guests is an important feature.
The pool area is a lot of fun but care needs to be taken especially for the very young or elderly. All pools in Lake County must have a security fence. This can be removed if you wish. In addition to this we have installed alarms to all 3 sets of patio doors leading to the pool area. These will alert you if a member of your party strays into the pool area without your knowledge. Adults can easily deactivate the alarm before opening a patio door by pressing one of the buttons next to these before opening.
Whilst crime rates are low in the area, we have, for the protection of your property, a monitored ADT alarm system which we would ask you to activate when leaving the property. This is a very simple procedure.
We also have a combination fire safe for your use if you require this.
Additionally we have an electric cooler for your car. Great for keeping drinks cool on your days out or even bringing ice cream and frozen food back from the store.
There are monitored smoke alarms for your further protection.
